Yes, we do. Mayday Marine Services is an authorized dealer for Yamaha, Suzuki, and Power-Pole. We perform warranty repairs for all three brands and will confirm your warranty coverage and communicate directly with the manufacturer throughout the entire warranty process. How often should I service my outboard?
Outboard motors should be serviced annually or every 100 hours of operation, whichever occurs first. Regular annual maintenance is particularly important in Florida's saltwater conditions and helps ensure your motor runs reliably while identifying potential issues before they turn into expensive repairs. As an authorized Yamaha and Suzuki dealer, Mayday Marine Services performs annual maintenance according to manufacturer specifications. Our annual service covers routine maintenance and a comprehensive inspection of your motor and critical systems. My outboard is getting old. Is it smarter to repair it or repower?
The answer depends on several factors, including your motor's age and condition, the cost of necessary repairs, availability of parts, and your boat usage. In some cases, repairing your existing motor is the better option. In others, investing in a new outboard can help you avoid ongoing repairs while providing greater reliability, better performance, and the peace of mind that comes with a new factory warranty. As an authorized Yamaha and Suzuki dealer, we can assess your current motor and help you decide whether repair or repowering is the best choice for you and your boat. If repowering is appropriate, we'll help you choose the Yamaha or Suzuki outboard that's right for your boat and how you use it.Why won't my outboard start?
An outboard may fail to start for numerous reasons, ranging from a weak battery or fuel problem to issues with the ignition system or other engine components. While the cause can sometimes be simple, ongoing starting problems should be properly diagnosed to prevent unnecessary repairs or additional damage. Mayday Marine Services can diagnose starting problems and identify what's needed to get you back on the water. Call us at 727-422-9557 to schedule your drop-off for service. If you don't have a trailer or need assistance getting your boat to our shop, we also provide boat pick-up and delivery services. What should I do to my outboard after every saltwater trip?
After each saltwater trip, thoroughly rinse your outboard with fresh water and flush the motor following the manufacturer's guidelines. This removes salt buildup from the cooling system and external components and helps reduce corrosion. It's also recommended to rinse your boat and trailer completely with fresh water, paying special attention to areas regularly exposed to saltwater. Consistent care after every trip, combined with regular annual service, can help protect your boat, motor, and trailer and extend their lifespan. How often do boat trailer bearings need to be repacked?
Boat trailer wheel bearings should typically be inspected and serviced at least annually, particularly when the trailer is regularly used in saltwater. Trailers that see frequent use or are submerged often may need more frequent service. Indications that your wheel bearings may need attention include unusual noise during towing, excessive heat at the hubs, grease leaking around the wheels, or looseness in the wheel. Regular bearing maintenance helps prevent unexpected failures and expensive repairs while towing. Mayday Marine Services offers boat trailer maintenance and repair along with outboard service, so we can inspect your trailer and take care of any issues while your boat is being serviced. What does a full trailer service include?
A full trailer service involves a complete inspection of your trailer's key components, including wheel bearings, hubs, tires, brakes, axles, suspension, lights and wiring, bunks or rollers, winch, jack, coupler, and safety equipment. We examine these components for wear, corrosion, damage, and other conditions that could compromise your trailer's safety and reliability. If repairs or replacement parts are necessary, we'll inform you of our findings and recommend appropriate repairs to keep your trailer safe and road-ready. Regular trailer maintenance is especially critical here in Florida, where frequent saltwater exposure can speed up corrosion and wear.Do you sell boats, outboard motors and boat trailers?
Yes, we do. Mayday Marine Services is a Freedom Boats USA dealer and sells both new and used boats, Yamaha and Suzuki outboard motors, and boat trailers. We're also an authorized Power-Pole dealer and provide sales, installation, and rigging services for marine electronics and accessories.
